Meet the Filmmaker: Cajardo Lindsey, “BLACKFACE the story of nobody”

Q: Why did you become a filmmaker?
CL: I grew weary of telling other folk’s stories as an actor when I knew I had stories of my own yearning to be told.

Q: What are we going to see at the EFP? Has it screened elsewhere and what are your plans for it?
CL: You will see my short film/proof-of-concept teaser called BLACKFACE the story of nobody. The short is comprised of two scenes from the award winning feature script of the same title. The film screened last summer at the inaugural Color of Conversation Film Festival hosted at the University of Denver.

Q: What else are you working on?
CL: We are in the midst of development for the feature film BLACKFACE the story of nobody. I am currently pregnant with this project and focused on getting it out. As such, I haven’t been sleeping with other projects… too much.

Q: Tell us one weird thing about you and/or your movies?
CL: I often feel like an alien visiting this planet. You asked for weird.

Q: Where can people go to find out more about you and your work?
CL: IMDb.me/Cajardo

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say about The Emerging Filmmakers Project?
CL: Thank you.

BLACKFACE The Story of Nobody will screen during The Emerging Filmmakers Project’s Black History Month Celebration on Thursday, February 20th at The Bug Theatre.
