464302364_640Q: Why did you become a filmmaker?

JL: I love telling stories. As a kid I use to write books and envision them as movies. After realizing the power of visual storytelling, I was determined to make it my career . As a filmmaker I love telling stories that challenge the audience and provoke conversation. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Q: What are we going to see at the EFP? Has it screened elsewhere and what are your plans for it?

JL: Serene Valley was made in 2010, my junior year at the Colorado Film School. It was released spring of 2011and has screened at 7 festivals across the nation. We shot all around Colorado and took almost 6 months to complete.

Q: What else are you working on?

JL: My company, 121Studios (121studios.net) is working on a new series that we are going to be pitching to networks and distributers. We are also working on a few feature length screenplays and music videos.

Q: Tell us one weird thing about you and/or your movies?

JL: Aren’t most filmmakers weird?
