532683_163460457150427_1034368496_nQ: Why did you become a filmmaker?
KL: I became a filmmaker because moviemaking is the most intimidating thing to me. There’s so much that goes into it. Nothing gives me a sense of accomplishment more than hitting the export button on a film filled with sweat, blood, and tears. Let’s face it, filmmaking is hard work! It’s a love/hate relationship for sure.

Q: What are we going to see at the EFP? Has it screened elsewhere and what are your plans for it?
KL: You’re going to see the best worst Valentine’s Day film ever. This project is the epitome of self-indulgent filmmaking. It was purely for fun, because why not! Patrick approached me a few months back and challenged me to make a comedic and totally inappropriate Valentine’s Day film specifically made to screen at the February EFP. So here it is!

Q: What else are you working on?
KL: This film above all has made me realize that I love producing. I had always thought directing was my thing, but no longer. Producing is where it’s at! Pre-pro is where the magic of film happens for me! I’m currently trying to get on as many people’s projects as possible to intern as a producer and production manager.

Q: Where can people go to find out more about you and your work?
KL: Add me on Facebook! I’m constantly posting updates about my work. Also, check me out on imdb. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5644019/.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say about The Emerging Filmmakers Project?
KL: You guys rock my socks off!

The Battle will screen February 19th at The Emerging Filmmakers Project.
