Meet the Filmmaker: Larth Ivory, “Flower Killer 2”

“Flower Killer 2”

Q: Why did you become a filmmaker?

LI: I started writing screenplays and my friends in the industry said a good way to get your film made would be to create a series for YouTube. My series started as and experiment with an app on my phone which I use to film all my work. I do all the editing, narration, music etc. on my phone.

Q: What are we going to see at the EFP? Has it screened elsewhere and what are your plans for it?

LI: Let me first say That the Flower Killer series is about an expert gardener who’s pitted against rival landscapers. Flower Killer 2 is a throwback and homage to horror films. You can find it on YouTube…it’s for peoples viewing pleasure. My films are just to gain attention…I have a feature and three short films I’ve written I’d like to see go into production.

Q: What else are you working on?

LI: I have a cardboard cut out of Justin Bieber I’d like to take out in public and film some improve/thought out scenes with.

Q: Tell us one weird thing about you and/or your movies?

LI: I get a kick out of dressing up as a girl.

Q: Where can people go to find out more about you and your work?

LI: TINYURL.COM/LARTHIVORY

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say about The Emerging Filmmakers Project?

LI: It’s a privilege to have my movie selected. Thanks EFP!

“Flower Killer 2” will be screening at the September 2016 Emerging Filmmaker’s Project at the Bug Theatre.
