Meet the Filmmaker: Richard Taylor, “Side Kick!”

“Side Kick!”

Q: Why did you become a filmmaker?

RT: Starting with the hardest question first I see… well I really dunno… why did I become a filmmaker? I guess it was originally just for my own amusement but now all I try to do is make people laugh. I’m not a serious filmmaker and never have tried to be… well once! and the outcome was funny! so I am just destined to make people laugh in every project I make.

Q: What are we going to see at the EFP? Has it screened elsewhere and what are your plans for it?
RT: This is a music video for my band Bolonium called “Side Kick.”  While helping out on a film called “Jean Claude Van Damn Damn’s Van” I came up with the idea of song about a “side kick” being Sexual Harasst while at work. The song made it into the film’s soundtrack and I thought it be awesome to make a music video.

Q: What else are you working on?
RT: Been working on A local Denver travel show called “Out West” a Music Show called “Studio Sessions” and a Food show called “Lets Eat” for Comcast Channel 900! Ive been trying to take on a few more personal projects here and there as I find the time to do so as well.

Q: Tell us one weird thing about you and/or your movies?
RT: I can Russian Dance. I am in a film called “The Killer Bra. “

Q: Where can people go to find out more about you and your work?

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say about The Emerging Filmmakers Project?
RT: Thank you for playing my film and giving all Denver filmmakers a place to show their work!

“Side Kick!” will be screening at the August 2016 Emerging Filmmaker’s Project at the Bug Theatre.
