Whether you know them for their short films, their music videos, or their work with The Grawlix, chances are you’ve seen a Nix Bros film, and chances are you enjoyed it.

The Nix Bros will be screening their film Love to Hate at the February EFP. Created for the 2013 Denver 48 Hour Film Project, Love to Hate won Best of Denver, Best Editing, Best Actress (Kristin Rand), the and Audience Award for screening block D. Eileen recently sat down with the two to discuss the film and the other projects they currently have in the works.

EA: Why did you become a filmmaker?

NB: We were always interested in art, acting and music, and film/video combines all those things.

EA: What are we going to see at the EFP? Has it screened elsewhere and what are your plans for it?

NB: We’re screening our 48 Hour Film Love To Hate which won Best of Denver last October, and will be screening next month at Filmapalooza in New Orleans.

EA: What else are you working on?

NB: Always writing and shooting short comedies. This week we are working a funny web commercial for Illegal Pete’s with Denver comedy group The Grawlix.

EA: Tell us one weird thing about you and/or your movies?

NB: We are in a fake German electro-pop supergroup that performs all around town and we shoot all of their music videos.

EA: Where can people go to find out more about you and your work?

NB: nixbros.com

EA: Is there anything you’d like to say about The Emerging Filmmakers Project?

NB: For a decade Denver has been a better place for filmmakers and artists because of EFP. We screen our stuff here several times a year and love that we have such an accessible way to get our hard work in front of a living, breathing audience.

Love to Hate will screen February 20th at The Emerging Filmmakers Project.
